Coffee is obviously a morning essential for 99.9% of the world, literally. (Ok, not a proven fact, but let’s be real.) If I don’t have coffee one morning, I WILL get a head ache. Even if I just drink it later on in the afternoon, my headache will still be there. I am a goner if there is no intake by morning. lol.
So I have used a Keurig, a real Espresso machine, and then the Nespresso. Sorry, Keurig lovers, but the Keurig sucks. I used to swear by it, until Cody got me an Espresso Machine. That, hands down, has made the most similar coffee to my starbucks than anything. BUT it takes FOREVER to prepare one freakin cup of coffee. You have to grind your own coffee beans, put the grinds in a double shot, crank it into the machine, then hold your milk brother into a steamer with a thermometer, and it’s just never ending.. And then the clean up? Don’t even get me started. I swear I am a professional barista now because of my experience with the Espresso machine.
Then one day, Cody got himself a Nespresso, and we have been hooked ever since. The best part? THE MILK FROTHER. You just pour the milk and press a button. AND it’s quiet. Frothing milk in an Espresso machine is loud as ****.
Now, of course, the most important part of the coffee is the type of coffee you use, or in this case, capsules. I’m using capsules by Gourmesso, which are compatible with Nespresso machines! One thing that has truly been a game changer with my coffee has been the Starbucks white mocha syrup. I used to use the pump that comes with it, but you have a shorter shelf-life with that, so I just pour a “pump” into a spoon. I also sometimes put a pump of toffee nut or peppermint. (I keep the pumps on the toffee nut and peppermint, because the syrup isn’t nearly as thick as the white chocolate, so it lasts long.)
So usually at Starbucks, I get a White Mocha with one pump of Toffee Nut, or one pump of Peppermint, and the way I make it at home tastes so similar to it!
