First, let’s talk about my two previous desk areas: 2013 desk area & 2014-2015 desk area. Both times, I faced the desk towards the wall, which just resulted in me never actually using them. Or at least very rarely. Instead, I’d sit at my dining table or use my coffee table and sit on the floor. Since I had more space this year, I decided to face away from the wall. I have a big window in my kitchen that brightens up the whole apartment, and it’s a view of the city, which I can see directly from the desk. I love having an open space in front of me. Plus when I have friends that come over, I usually am working on my blog at night, so while they sit on the couch, I can still face them while at my desk. Cody has used it a few times too, and without me ever saying my whole speech about my previous desks, he said “You couldn’t have picked a better position for this desk. I can watch tv, and it’s like I’m hanging out in the living room when I sit here.” I now actually sit at my desk every morning, and I love it! It also helps that I like the chair I get to sit on, (my past two were SO uncomfortable.) That was another thing Cody mentioned to me, he loves this chair because it has so much cushion. My sofa is obviously not the most comfortable thing on the planet, which Cody tells me at least once a week (lol,) so for him to like the desk chair is huge!
When I redecorated practically my entire apartment last year, LexMod was my go-to online store for my dining area. No tax AND free shipping? Ummm, SIGN ME UP! haha. Seriously though. I became obsessed with LexMod, so I was really excited I got to work on this collab with them. I have also been a HUGE fan of Oliver Gal for years. Oliver Gal is the one behind the infamous Prada Marfa canvas you see everywhere (the black & white one from Gossip Girl, and the one in my living room that is sold at Z Gallerie.) I originally had the Vogue Canvas up on the wall behind the desk, but it looked way too small when I hung it, so when discussing with the Oliver Gal team, we decided the “Dramatic Entrance” canvas would look great in place of it. And lastly, I know I’m not the only one to be obsessed with journals, yearly agendas, notepads, and all of the above, so I’m excited to introduce Leatherology to you guys. How cute is the coral notebook with my initials?! I currently die for personalized items.
