I announced this on Instagram a while ago, but if you haven't heard, baby number 2 is coming early August, and we're having another girl! We were so sure this baby was a boy, so we were shocked to find out it was a girl, but we are soooo excited and Charlie is going to love having a sister. She already forces Meela, to play dress up, so she is going to have so much fun. My exact due date is August 4th, but I hold these dates lightly, because Charlie was due Jan 9th 2023, and she made her appearance on December 19th 2022.... So.
As far as pregnancy goes, this has been another tough one for me, and after two visits to the hospital due to being incredibly sick, I found out I have HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarum.) In short, HG is a severe form of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, and it SUCKS. First trimester was by far the worst. I felt like I couldn't function. I'd crawl to the toilet to vomit. Couldn't keep water down, fruit, literally anything I attempted to eat or drink came right back up. Imagine having food poisoning for 13 weeks... All on top of taking care of a toddler and working full time. I felt so depressed during this time and felt like I could not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Every.single.day was a huge struggle, and all I wanted to do was close my eyes and not have to deal with how awful I felt. Writing this, I'm now in week 15, so I'm in my second trimester. While I do feel better, I did still have to go to the hospital last week, was throwing up non-stop, and started feeling bad again. It now comes in waves, so I'm grateful for the few days of slight relief I get from time to time.
August can't come soon enough, I'll say that! lol.
