As most of you know, I got permanent winged dusty eyeliner towards the end of last year and I absolutely LOVE my results. I shared on instagram stories, and many were very baffled at the fact that I went through with this. I had at least 50 people respond, "OMG didn't that hurt?!" But let me back track for a sec. Three years ago, I got my eyebrows microbladed by Cindy Vu, and I found her through Daria Chupry's Permanent Makeup Academy in Beverly Hills. Daria is extremely well known and respected in the permanent makeup industry and she trained Cindy. They are both so incredibly talented, I could honestly go on for an hour.
So last year, I was scrolling through Instagram, when I stopped at a photo posted by Daria of her permanent winged dusty eyeliner that she did on a client. Guys. my jaw dropped. I was AMAZED at how beautiful and natural it looked. Not too long after that, she was looking for models to use for her training videos, and I thought... well, what the hell... so I signed up to be one of them for the eyeliner. I knew I was in good hands, so I really wasn't nervous at all. The Process: She first draws out the liner to see how you like it, and you can make adjustments and see it drawn out before she begins. Now, I've seen permanent eyeliner before, but I had never seen the dusty winged eyeliner until Daria posted about it. I am all about cutting down my makeup routine, so I'm always game for things like this, lol. Where as most people would be like... omg, I'd be too scared, I can't do it... I'm just like... yep, I'm gonna go for it - YOLO. (I swear everything I do in life is very much a YOLO thing.) Think about it... 2-3 years without ever having to spend a second on getting your winged eyeliner to match the other side? Sounds like a Hallelujah chorus is singing...
I know you're all wondering, so I'll get right to it... DID IT HURT? First and foremost, you do get numbed. Since my procedure was being filmed, a lot more time was spent on it, so my eyes more so just felt very raw, so I will say that, yes, that time it did hurt...but when I went in for my touch up a month later, I actually was falling in and out of sleep and it wasn't bad at all. After you get them done, you can't put makeup up there for 8-10 days, which isn't that big of a deal, since it already looks like you have makeup on there... I just couldn't wear any lashes for 8-10 days, but obviously was able to do all other face makeup.
It is SO nice waking up and basically having some life to my eyes already. And not having to do eyeliner?! I mean, seriously, it's the best. I just throw on some lashes and I can call it a day. It changes the makeup game and was 100% worth it to me. And I believe it last 2-3 years before you need another touch up.
PRICING: To get this done by Daria, it is $650 and $50 for the touch up. If you are in the LA or OC area, I HIGHLY recommend having Daria do this for you. When it comes to permanent makeup, you want to go to someone who is incredibly skilled - this IS your face. Don't go to someone just because they are cheaper than someone else. As I said when I first got my eyebrows micro-bladed, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Before I had found Cindy & Daria, I read through TONS of yelp reviews on other artists, scanned through so many instagram accounts showing work of artists, that I lost count. For me, I first look at the work, and then I check the price, because again. THIS IS YOUR FACE.
OMG I want this so bad!
