The first time I made this, I DID actually add chicken, but ONE, it's too much work, when I already don't like to cook, and TWO, I HATE looking at raw meat! Literally makes me lose my appetite. So, feel free to add chicken if you'd like, but this recipe does not include it, lol. You do still get the chicken flavor from the chicken broth, though. People are always like "omg, you should add chicken!" and I'm like, no thank you, but feel free to add it to yours when you make it, lol. Now... first thing's first, did you know you're supposed to refrigerate chicken broth after opening? Yeah, I learned this after like 7 times of making this. There's a TINY print that says it on the box. This is not found in the refrigerated section of the store, so this part is often over looked. I was at my friends house a month or two ago, and I saw her chicken broth in the fridge, and I was like "is this supposed to be in here?" Moral of the story... YES. I looked this up on google, too, and there are many forums of people freaking out that they never knew this either! So if you didn't know this, you're not alone.
Pasta ( I do either Penne or Elbow)
Kroger's Heavy Whipping Cream
Herdez Mild Salsa Verde
Swanson's 33% less sodium Chicken Broth
Chili Lime Cholula (NOT regular cholula. It ruins it! Trust me.)
-Pasta will cook with all ingredients. No need to boil in water before hand.
-1 Cup of Pasta
-1 Cup of Chicken Broth (I usually add a little more along the way)
-1 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream
-1 Cup of Salsa Verde
-Cook on Medium Heat, stirring occasionally
-Once pasta has thickened, add a few drops of Chili Lime Cholula
*This took a lot of eyeballing for me, so add more of each ingredient if needed. (I change it up a little every time, lol.)
