Today, October 21, 2013, marks two years with Cody! <3 I first saw Cody when we were 16 at Hume Lake, and I remember just wanting to know his name. Seconds later we met, 4 years later, I became his girlfriend, and now, 2 years later, (or 6 years all together,) he’s not only my boyfriend, but my best friend.
Since the anniversary fell on a Monday, we decided to celebrate over the weekend at the Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach. Cody’s always loved planning trips, so a one day/night stay at Pelican Hill it was… even though we only live 30 minutes away. This place was sooooooo pretty. It was up on a hill, hence the name, Pelican Hill, so it over looked the ocean. The hotel isn’t like a normal hotel, rather than hotel rooms, you get Bungalows with a large terrace that overlooks either the golf course or the ocean. I’m such a sucker for views so we HAD to get the ocean view!
Below is the promise ring Cody got me from Tiffany’s! :D And it’s rose gold, another thing I’m a sucker for. They’re”new thing” is roman numerals, which I love, and they represent the numbers around the clock (12, 3, 6, 9,) and yes I know you’re all now thinking of the song “Get Low,” lol. But anyway, the whole clock thing basically stands for “timeless,” or “forever.” This little set up was outside on our terrace, too! I even bought a pumpkin candle to bring with us, just to get that October feel. :)
The pool at Pelican Hill is by far my favorite pool. It’s called “The Coliseum,” and it’s literally a gigantic circle. And yes, it’s still hot in California during October. lol.
After about an hour at the pool, we went back to enjoy the view on our terrace, and watch the sunset. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t be obsessed with this view?
And then we kind of snuck over to the wedding that was taking place, because I was dying to get a picture of that view, too…
