Morpheus 8 is a relatively new treatment. Every time I mention it to someone, the first question I'm asked is "what's that?" And honestly, the best and quickest way to explain it is by saying it's a mini facelift without going under the knife... however, I am going to go into detail of what it actually is, what it entails, and my overall thoughts on it after having two treatments done. If you've been around for a while, you know I've been going to SEV laser for years now. (If you haven't read all about my laser journey, you can read about it here.) They're my go-to place for all things beauty.
My entire pregnancy, I was constantly talking about how Morpheus 8 would be the first thing I was going to do once Charlie got here. One of the main reasons I wanted to get this done was because I have always hated my neck,. And when I say always, I mean like since I was 15. After talking to people in the industry of facial aesthetics about it, 90% of them recommended I look into Morpheus 8. After pregnancy, I felt like I just looked so tired, for obvious reasons, but also like my skin had aged 7 years from giving birth. (The lack of an epidural was BRUTAL - you will forever hear me talk about the fact that I wasn't able to get an epidural, because I will never be over it, lol.)
I have had two Morpheus 8 treatments at SEV and I am obsessed with the results. I noticed an improvement in my skin texture just about a week after my first treatment, and an even greater improvement directly after my second treatment. I'm talking like, I got in the car to drive home after the treatment and I was like, wow. My skin looks bomb. lol. I looked and felt rejuvenated and like I quite literally had a mini facelift. You guys know I am always 100% transparent with you guys, and I will never talk about something in so much detail if I didn't truly stand behind something.
The photos to the right show what I looked like directly after each treatment. Being that this was something I hadn't done before, I was more bruised and bled more after my first treatment. Even after a week, my skin was still recovering. After my second treatment, though, by the next day, you literally wouldn't have known I had anything done. My skin recovered so much quicker that time.
Let's quickly talk about collagen: Collagen strengthens your skin. Collagen fibers basically create the framework for elastin and hyaluronic acid, which is what gives your skin elasticity and hydration. As you age, your body produces less of this. After Morpheus 8, collagen that is broken down during the treatment reforms and connective tissues become tighter and stronger. It's a total rebuilding process.
What is Morpheus 8?
"Morpheus8 is an incredible rejuvenating treatment that combines microneedling and radiofrequency. It transforms the skin on a very deep level, like a non-surgical facelift or body contouring treatment. It stimulates collagen production in the underlying layers of the dermis, to encourage a natural anti-aging process. Expect tighter, smoother skin and faded wrinkles! Morpheus8 is very unique as it can penetrate 4 mm deep, resulting in the coagulation of fat tissue, for a more contoured physique. " - SEV
How quickly will I see results?
You will see results a few days after treatment, but most noticeably - 3 weeks after treatment. However, due to the intense collagen re-production, you will continue seeing results even 3 months post treatment.
Does Morpheus 8 hurt?
Yes and no. A numbing cream is applied to the targeted areas, which will be left on for 45-60 minutes prior to treatment. I personally have a high pain tolerance, and it honestly is tolerable. I found that the forehead and neck were the areas I felt the most. (If you have ever had your lip filler dissolved, THAT hurts way more, lol.) But as we all know... beauty is pain, but the results are SO worth it.
What parts of the body can Morpheus 8 be done?
Honestly, everywhere! Face, neck, chest, butt, stomach, legs, you name it. It's great for targeting scars, cellulite, uneven fat distribution, sun damage, fine lines, skin texture, and so much more.
All in all, I'm so glad I was finally able to try Morpheus 8. (It has been the talk of the town since Kim K first did it.) I'm never one to shy away from treatments and I like being able too share my experiences with you guys. As of now, SEV offers Morpheus 8 at five of their California locations, as it does need to be done by a registered nurse. For more information on this treatment, as well as pricing, you can read all about it on the SEV website.
