I know I literally just did an apartment re-décor post, but we have a slight alteration today, which I did not expect to happen! So weeks ago, I saw this white couch on Z Gallerie’s Instagram page and immediately fell in love with it. I went online to look at the price and then changed my mind lol.

But Cody and I went in to Z Gallerie last week just because I love to look at the decor, and then I ended up asking about the couch only because I wanted to see it in person. So to make a REALLY long story short… they had the floor model and they sell floor models to customers for 70% off if they need to make room for new decor coming in. There was a couple from Alaska (freakin ALASKA) who bought it, but couldn’t find someone to ship it for them. We were put on the waiting list just incase, and I got all excited about it. Next day, we find out the Alaskan’s found someone to ship it for them… Then I called all 53 Z Gallerie stores in the U.S to see if they had the floor model, and no one carried it.

The worker had mentioned their Z Gallerie Outlet, which is actually where they store all of their merchandise, but they also have a small section of accidentally damaged pieces or floor models from other stores, so everything is 50-80% off. He explained and said you have to wait in line for an hour, and when they let you in, you have to pull a tag off the piece you want and purchase it within 15 minutes, otherwise, then next person who wanted your item will automatically get it. Yep. They time you. lol.

Now, let me tell you… Cody is the most selfless person on the planet. He went to the Outlet 4 times, meaning he waited in line for an hour each time so he could get the sofa for me as a birthday gift. I went 3 of those times, and holy ****, you will sweat bullets. Like I said, it has been raging hot here, so standing directly under the sun for an hour with no movement is pure torture. Especially when you leave one minute after the doors open, because the item you want isn’t there. The third time we went, and didn’t see the couch, we were like “omg this is hopeless,” until I spoke to one of the workers in Spanish. I told him what we were looking for and he says quietly, “I’ll have it on the floor for you Wednesday, but you have to be first in line, because it’s a popular sofa.” I was shocked. He had just finished telling another lady that he can’t bring things down just because people ask, and how everything just comes down at random…. and then right after, he tells me in Spanish that he will bring something down for me AND tells me the day?! Thank you, Jesus, for my Hispanic mother who made Spanish my first language when I was a kid. haha. If he didn’t tell us that, Cody and I would not have come during the week because of work. We would have maybe just come again on Friday or Saturday.

So Monday night, I put flyers around our apartment saying we were selling our couch, and we sell it the very next day. Then Wednesday, Cody gets off of work and gets in line at 10:30 am (doors open at 12,) because everything is just who grabs what first. I meet Cody there, we once again sweat bullets standing in our work clothes, but this time, we finally left with our long awaited couch! I literally could not believe it. That night we finally opened the bottle of champagne that has been sitting on our bar cart to celebrate. haha.
